Elena Kazakova

Elena joined Hérès (formerly Brandi Partners) in 2013 and became a partner in 2020.

Prior to joining Hérès, Elena was an associate in the corporate and antitrust practice of the Moscow office of the French law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel.

For more than 10 years Elena has been advising Russian and foreign clients, including start-ups and SMEs, on various issues related to establishing and structuring their presence in Russia, registration and termination of employment relations, optimization of corporate structure, antitrust risks, development and implementation of an effective
compliance system.

Elena also advises clients on commercial and contract law projects, including development and implementation of standard documentation, analysis of agreements for compliance with antitrust laws, and support in negotiations with counterparties.

In addition, Elena’s area of specialization includes “digital law” issues related to electronic commerce (e-commerce) and personal data protection.

Elena has experience in advising Russian and international companies in various sectors, including manufacturing and trading of auto parts and other industrial goods, cosmetics, perfumes and luxury goods, as well as agriculture and various B-to-B and B-
to-C services.

Elena’s professional interests include mediation as an alternative method of dispute resolution. She has a diploma of mediator (Center at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation) and advises clients on mediation clauses and application of this mechanism for effective resolution of commercial and labor disputes.
